Born in Brooklyn, Robert Paul Abelson has long been a noted cantor and cantorial teacher within the Reform movement. For many seasons a member of the New York City Opera, he has also sung with the Seattle and St. Paul Opera companies, the Goldovsky Opera Theatre, and the Mostly Mozart Festival at Lincoln Center.
